Come Take Flight at KSU!Location(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.Job SummaryAssist the department leaders with all forms of communications for the Athletic department including but not limited to all printed publications, NCAA official game statistics, website coverage for assigned sports, video and audio streaming, game credentials, and set up for television and radio communications.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as communications contact for assigned sports Creates game notes, website stories, and maintenance of KSUOwls.com Oversight of assigned KSU Athletics social media channels' strategy and execution Oversees email communication for the Owls Fund Responsible for content within the Owls Fund emails and digital communications (newsletters, website stories, etc.) Serves as co-liaison to university communications for storytelling to facilitate communications Assists with notifications via KSU Owls app for information outside of marketing Collects, analyzes and reports data from our digital channels for strategic decision-making Assists department leadership with special fundraising projects via collateral and written material Directs content and structure of the Owls Fund websiteRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in post-secondary education, business, or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experienceOther Required QualificationsCurrent, valid, and unrestricted driver's licenseRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of experience in the field of sports information including producing statistical information, reporting actual athletic events and outcomes, designing and layout of guides, and advanced writing skills for feature stories of selected athletes.Preferred QualificationsPreferred Educational QualificationsAn advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related fieldPreferred ExperienceExperience in media relations, sports information, social media, writing, and editing skills as well as the development of graphics for social media platforms, photography, or comparable experienceProgressively responsible experience in the field of sports information including producing statistical information, reporting actual athletic events/outcomes, designing and layout guides, and advanced writing skills for feature stories of selected athletesAbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAble to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlinesSkillsExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skillsProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)Strong attention to detail and follow up skillsStrong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquetteUSG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
