Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Assistant General Manager of Hong Kong to oversee and integrate the critical external-facing functions of Banking Relationship and Public Affairs (PA). The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in banking and finance, coupled with the diplomatic acumen to navigate government and public affairs and the strategic insight to guide public communications.You will be responsible for designing and managing the company’s banking ecosystem, maintaining key relationships, and ensuring all external communications and public affairs projects are executed flawlessly.What will you do?Team Leadership & Management:• Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and performance management to two functional teams: Banking & Treasury and Public Affairs• Ensure efficient coordination between teams and other business units to achieve strategic objectives• Manage relationships and service delivery with key external partners, including banks, financial institutions Government agencies, and PR agenciesBanking Relationship & Treasury:• Act as the primary owner for managing and nurturing relationships with global banking partners• Oversee and execute all aspects of bank account opening, maintenance (including KYC updates), and management worldwide• Design, implement, and manage efficient global fund flow structures and internal payment/transfer processes• Apply a deep understanding of the company's organizational and business structure to align banking solutions with operational needsPublic Affairs & Communications:• Lead the GR team in maintaining ongoing communication with relevant government and regulatory bodies in Hong Kong to support business strategic operations• Guide the PR team in the effective implementation of communication plans, media engagement, and event execution• Oversee the development and quality assurance of key corporate communications materialsWhat does a successful candidate look like?• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role encompassing finance/banking and external affairs (GR/PR)• Must have a strong background in the banking/financial services sector, with an established network and deep understanding of banking operations• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally• High emotional intelligence (EQ), impeccable integrity, and a polished, professional demeanor that inspires trust and confidence• Excellent project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong results-oriented execution capability• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
