Hey, Kansas City area Ops candidates! We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for a truly dynamic client. This role is for someone who enjoys leading people, staying organized, and helping bring creative projects to life. You will learn the work from the ground up, guide a small team, support clients, and make sure each project leaves the shop ready to make an impact.What you will do Learn the work by getting hands-on with the products and daily tasks Lead and motivate a team of up to eight people with patience, awareness, and strong emotional intelligence Set expectations, answer questions, and coach the team during busy periods Manage the daily schedule for shipments and all outgoing work Handle detailed scheduling for employees and clients Review new orders to make sure everything is accurate Double-check daily shipments before they go out Review each project before invoicing and flag anything that needs attention Book freight, prepare bills of lading, label crates, and manage logistics tasks Look over service proposals before they go to clients Coordinate team travel when needed Photograph new inventory and keep counts updated Take part in local setup and teardown work when needed Travel at certain times, especially during the first few months, to supervise client installs in other cities Support the operations leadership team with any other tasks that come upWhat helps someone thrive in this role A steady personality that stays calm when things get busy Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients A real can-do attitude and a willingness to jump in and get your hands dirty A four-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience Background in logistics or a similar field where timing and detail matter Ability to build trust with clients and guide a team with confidenceWhy this work is funEvery project is different and carries its own creative spark.
