This is a demanding environment that rewards judgment, initiative, and momentum — you should be comfortable with ambiguity and ready take ownership in a fast-growing business.Position Overview:The Associate Director, New Business Development contributes to the growth of Ivey Executive Education in Asia by being firmly focused on new account acquisition. As a true new-business hunter, your mission is to drive revenue by opening doors with enterprise organizations that are not yet Ivey Executive Education clients. You will often be the first interaction prospective customers have with Ivey, playing a critical role in shaping how our brand is experienced as we continue to grow our base of loyal, high-impact clients.You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization, including Marketing, Customer Success, Account Management, and fellow Business Developers. You will stay on top of emerging trends, conduct targeted market research and successfully access a broad network of senior industry contacts to build new paths for business expansion and lead generation. You will continually expand the community of senior HR and L&D professionals and decision makers who are aware of Ivey Executive Education by maintaining a strong external profile and attending conferences, events, and business networking opportunities. Success in this role requires drive, ambition, resilience, and an entrepreneurial mindset, along with a strong desire to contribute to Ivey’s Bold Ambition strategy.Responsibilities:Lead Generation and Market Expansion Identify, target, and engage net-new prospects within assigned geographies, programs and verticalsBuild and execute outbound and inbound prospecting strategies to generate qualified pipelineOwn early- to mid-stage sales cycles, from discovery through qualification and handoffIdentify key decision-makers and influencers and craft tailored outreach strategiesConduct discovery calls to uncover business challenges, priorities, and success metricsPosition solutions clearly by aligning value propositions to prospect needs and outcomesWork cross-functionally with sales peers, marketing, customer success, and operations teamsConsistently meet or exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue-related targetsActivate personal network of senior industry contacts to generate high quality leadsCollaborate with the business development team to determine appropriate strategies to attract new client organizationsRepresent Ivey Executive Education at industry events and conferences to network, build relationships, grow brand awareness and generate sales.Articulate the benefits of participating in an Ivey Executive Education custom program or attending an Ivey Executive Education open enrolment program, while demonstrating a clear understanding of Ivey’s value propositions.Market Research Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities and market dynamics to inform decision-making and identify areas for growth.Maintain in-depth knowledge of Ivey’s product offerings, industry trends, and technological advancements to effectively position solutions in the market.Identify priority industries and companies and build and implement action plans to make connections and access new opportunities. Activity Management Track all activity in CRM (Salesforce).Measure and report on key metrics (e.g., client satisfaction, account trends, pipeline etc.)Develop and implement client and sponsor follow-up activitiesQualifications: Education & Experience3 to 5 years of sales experience with a proven record of developing new business with new clientsA strong track record of generating your own lead pipeline and closing dealsFluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an asset.Skills and Abilities: Disciplined in qualifying opportunities and managing deal risk.Comfortable being client-facing and active in the market.Confident, compelling, and influential communication style.Self-motivated and driven, with a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.Commercially savvy, strategic, and creatively minded, with an entrepreneurial approach.Experience running a consistent yet adaptable sales methodology.Effective at building relationships and engaging senior-level stakeholders.Skilled communicator with strong presentation capabilities.Ability to tailor messaging to different industries, roles, and pain points.Background in HR consulting, leadership development, or L&D is a plus.Comfortable using CRM and productivity tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Navigator, and Microsoft Office.
