Associate Test Automation Engineer

This role is ideal for someone early in their QA career who is eager to learn, build strong testing foundations, and grow technical skills in automation and modern development practices.You will work closely with experienced TA engineers, developers, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle, contributing to test execution and helping ensure high-quality software releases.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute manual and automated tests for assigned product areas under guidance from senior team membersCreate, maintain, and execute test cases and test scenarios based on requirements and design documentationAssist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworksIdentify, log, and help triage defects; support developers during bug-fix verificationParticipate in regression, exploratory, usability, and acceptance testing activitiesSupport test execution within CI/CD pipelines and follow established QA processesContribute to sprint ceremonies, testing activities, and release validation effortsTrack test results and contribute to quality metrics and reportingContinuously learn QA best practices, tools, and automation techniquesRequired QualificationsFoundational experience or strong academic background in software testing (manual and/or automated)Basic understanding of QA principles, test design techniques, and defect lifecycleExposure to test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or CypressProgramming or scripting experience in Java (required) and/or Python, JavaScript, or TypeScriptFamiliarity with version control systems such as GitUnderstanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologiesStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learnClear communication skills and ability to collaborate within a teamPreferred QualificationsInternship, academic project, or early professional experience in QA or software developmentExposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)Basic knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)Familiarity with cloud platforms or container technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)ISTQB Foundation Level or similar certificationInterest in growing toward automation, performance, or specialized testing areasLife at PTC is about more than working with today’s most cutting-edge technologies to transform the physical world.
