Duties will include answering phone calls and helping with ANR clients and programming.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or CompetenciesStrong organizational and other soft-skills, working knowledge of office practices and procedures.Ability to use independent judgment and discretion with confidential information.Works with limited supervision.Physical DemandsPack, move boxes, handle equipment, load and unload vehicles.Driving as needed to perform job duties.Travel to events.Is driving a responsibility of this position? Please visit the UGA Background Check website.Duties/ResponsibilitiesDuties/ResponsibilitiesThis Program Assistant position will assist the Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Agent in providing programming and advice for Athens-Clarke County Extension clients. The duties will include, but are not limited to: insect identification, plant identification, weed identification, pest control recommendations according to the Georgia Pest Control Handbook, developing ANR stories for publication in area newspapers, and working with 4-H youth in Agricultural programs. Site visits and office visits will be a part of providing services to the clientele in this position.Percentage of time 80 Duties/ResponsibilitiesCover front desk of Extension office during Administrative Assistant’s lunch break.
