Augmented Reality (AR) Engineer

Job Title: AR Engineer (Freelance / Contract)About the RolePicsible Technologies is seeking a skilled AR Engineer to develop a lightweight, marker-based augmented reality experience for our mobile platform. The goal is to enable our app to recognize specific printed images and trigger dynamic digital content in real time.You’ll work closely with our in-house development team to integrate this feature into an existing mobile app. The project involves building the core AR functionality, ensuring it is reliable, responsive, and optimized for cross-platform performance.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and optimize an image recognition + tracking system that detects printed visuals using the device camera.Overlay and synchronize corresponding media content on detection.Integrate the AR component into an existing mobile app (Flutter or React Native) via native modules or SDKs.Ensure smooth performance and minimal latency on both Android and iOS.Provide technical documentation for the implemented AR module.RequirementsStrong experience with at least one of:Vuforia, 8th Wall, ARCore, ARKit, or Unity AR Foundation.Proven background in image-based AR or marker tracking projects.Familiarity with mobile app integration (React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android).Excellent debugging and optimization skills.Ability to deliver high-quality results independently and meet deadlines.Nice to HaveExperience integrating AR features into consumer-facing apps.Knowledge of backend or media content delivery systems (Firebase, AWS, etc.).Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine.Contract DetailsType: Freelance / Contract (Project-based)Duration: 3–6 weeks for MVP deliveryLocation: RemoteCompensation: N250,000 - N500,000.How to ApplySend your portfolio, GitHub link, or examples of previous AR work to careers@picsible.com, along with:The AR SDKs you’re most familiar withA brief description of relevant past projectsYour earliest availability
