Automation Engineer (Cost Optimization)

The role:As an Automation Engineer (Cost Optimization), you will Identify and implement technical solutions to reduce material and component costs (Automation/Electrical: harnesses, sensors, motors, power supply, piezo, etc.) while maintaining quality and functional requirements. You will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers within Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) projects.What you will do:Providing cost intelligence and data analysis to guide design and sourcing decisionsEngaging in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities and cost-reduction (Kaizen) initiatives in collaboration with PD teamsIdentifying cross-PD sourcing synergies and optimal technologies to drive cost reductionsPerforming Material Design for Excellence (DfX) assessments during PTM phasesMaximizing supplier contributions to Markem-Imaje (e.g. productivity, technology, and flexibility) by identifying the best supplier fit and driving improvements within VAVE and concurrent engineering projectsDeveloping material cost models and should-cost analyses to support project costing, competitor benchmarking, negotiation preparations, and category strategiesWhat you need to have:Degree in Engineering.
