We invest in progress — and therefore in a cleaner, better future.To further strengthen our (digital) growth, we are looking for a senior Automation Engineer HVAC/Heat PumpAbout the RoleWe are developing next-Generation high-temperature heat pumps based on natural, zero-TFA working fluids, targeting industrial decarbonization.As Senior Automation Engineer, you will own the control and automation architecture, and operational safety logic of the system. You will be responsible for turning complex thermodynamic and mechanical hardware into a stable, safe, and operable industrial product, from first startup through pilot operation and final commissioning.Key responsibilities:You will own and lead the following areas:Control system architecture & implementation: design the control system architecture (PLC structure, state machines, software modularization); based on input from process control team implement the process control philosophy defined by System/Process Engineering; translate operating modes, sequences, and limits into robust automation logic.Process control & performance execution: implement control loops for pressure, temperature, flow, and capacity; execute compressor control strategies (speed control, staging, envelope protection); tune control performance while respecting defined process and mechanical limits.Safety-related control logic: implement interlocks, alarms, trips, and emergency shutdown logic; ensure control execution of safety requirements defined by Safety & Compliance team; support HAZID/HAZOP from a control implementation perspective.PLC, HMI & automation implementation: select and program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control hardware; define I/O lists, signal types, and redundancy where required; develop operator interfaces suitable for industrial environments.Instrumentation & sensors: select actuators and sensors for high temperature and high pressure (temperature, pressure, flow, level); define accuracy, response time, redundancy, and failure behavior; integrate instrumentation into control and safety logic.Commissioning & testing: develop commissioning procedures and test sequences; provide on-site support during startup, tuning, and validation; support safe operation of test rigs and pilot systems.RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceMSc (or equivalent) in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.8+ years of experience in industrial control and automation systems (HVAC/ Heat pump preferred).Proven experience in closed-loop control of pressure and temperature in dynamic systemsExperience with thermal systems, rotating machinery, or process equipment.Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (IEC 61131-3).Strong hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, EtherCAT, Modbus).Experience with HMI development and industrial diagnostics.Proven track record in working in project teams with strict scope, budget and deadlinesAbility to debug complex interactions between hardware, sensors, and control softwareWhat we offer?Driving seat in development of control and automation for a cutting-edge industrial heat pump technology.Influence on system performance, safety, and reliability.Close collaboration with senior mechanical and safety experts, plus dynamic teamwork environment.Opportunity to develop a system from concept to industrial deployment.Competitive compensation and flexible working arrangementsAcquisition based on this vacancy is not appreciated!
