We’re Hiring: Assistant Vice President – Electrical & Automation | Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC)Location: Dubai World Central (DWC), UAEDepartment: EngineeringSeniority: Senior Leadership RoleEmirates Flight Catering is embarking on one of the region’s most advanced engineering programmes as we build a next-generation, fully automated 500,000-meal-per-day facility at Al Maktoum International Airport (AMI). We are seeking a highly accomplished AVP – Electrical & Automation to architect and govern the full spectrum of Electrical Power Systems, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Instrumentation, and Controls for this mega-scale project.This role sits at the technical core of our future operations. The successful candidate will lead the design and integration of a high-availability electrical infrastructure exceeding 100 MW load capacity, advanced LV/HV distribution networks, smart-grid interfaces, and mission-critical backup systems. You will also drive the deployment of complex automation ecosystems — including PLC/SCADA architectures, robotics for production lines, AI-enabled predictive maintenance frameworks, and digital twin modelling to optimise system performance and operational resilience.This is a rare opportunity to shape a world-class, highly automated, food-safe manufacturing environment that will set global benchmarks in energy performance, reliability, and intelligent factory operations.What You’ll LeadDesign authority for HV/LV power distribution, DEWA interfaces, MCCs, VSDs, power factor systems, and cable managementIntegration of advanced automation platforms, robotics solutions (AGVs, robotic arms, automated food-handling systems), and complex control networksDevelopment of a fault-tolerant, redundant, and cyber-secure electrical architecture capable of continuous 24/7 operationsExecution of primary and secondary power infrastructure, including substations, backup generators, and ATS systems that ensure zero downtime for life-safety and critical production assetsDeployment of IIoT, digital twins, energy-analytics platforms, and AI-based predictive maintenanceDelivery of world-leading energy performance through harmonic filtering, heat-recovery electrification, real-time power monitoring, and smart-grid optimisationCompliance leadership across DEWA, IEEE, NFPA, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 50001, ISO 45001 and LEED Platinum standardsOversight of FAT/SAT/IST regimes, commissioning strategies, and operational readinessGovernance of CAPEX/OPEX budgets, risk management, vendor evaluation, and contractual negotiationsCross-functional leadership with regulators, consultants, contractors, and senior EKFC executivesWhy This Role MattersThis position will architect the foundational systems that power EKFC’s future.
