Backend Software Engineer, Golang/Python

Why this role mattersYou will join our Payments Division as a Backend Software Engineer, Golang/Python. You will aim to extend, optimize, and support the production of the existing software solutions, ensuring we capture as much value from the market as possible. You will research and innovate new ideas in highly reliable, low-latency, and high-load computing in financial markets.Our usual stack looks like this:Core services are written in Go and PythonEverything is deployed to KubernetesOur data is mostly in PostgreSQLWe use a lot of KafkaBut also a bit of Clickhouse, MongoDB, CassandraMicroservices, REST/JSON API, large databases and complex business logic inside.The role is based in our office in Limassol, Cyprus. In case of relocation, we offer full relocation support for you and your family to make your move smooth and worry-free.What you'll actually doDevelop, test and maintain microservices in Go, PythonParticipate in architectural discussions with architects and software engineersReview other engineers' code.Take part in integration testingCreate integrations with other teams’ servicesHelp other teams to integrate with our servicesLead the entire application/service development life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and post-launch support.Convey effectively all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, and schedules along with technical and process issues.Who We’re Looking ForSenior knowledge in Golang - Golang is a simple language with complex concepts hidden from the developer. We’d like you to understand its principles described here - https://go-proverbs.github.io/At least 4-5 years of experience in software developmentStrong expertise in SQL - being able to EXPLAIN and ANALYZE is important.Kubernetes is everywhere, we would like you to have a good grasp of the way it works and how to use it properly.Experience with Git is a must.Good understanding of Kafka, its basic concepts and how to use it.Previous experience with REST API and microservice architecture.We would really like you to be a problem-solver, not a 'Jira-ticket-solver' - you take the problem, comprehend it and solve it.
