Ivanplats is looking for a Banksman REF: IVP-ENG-2516IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualificationOnsetter or Banksman CertificateBoiler making phase 1 certificateIRCA Training for Construction Supervisors CertificateSuitable candidates must have the following work experience:3 Years’ experience in a similar roleThe successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:Examining Safety devicesShaft examinationsHousekeeping of shaft bank areaSafety of personnel in shaft bank area and in the shaftSignaling Winding Engine Driver, Stage Operators, shaft bottom personnelExamining telephones, lights and signaling devicesHoisting of men and equipmentHoisting of rock disposalRecord-keeping of Shaft logbookRigging and slinging of equipmentReport any anomalies and incidents to the shaft ForemanOn-line applications to be forwarded to www.ivanhoecommunities.com on or before the closing date.
