The TOI Editorial function is the driving force behind the generation of content that shapes the reader experience.
With a focus on news and analysis, this function constantly endeavours to implement path-breaking ideas and drive value-creation innovations. Position Summary: We need a candidate to work in a rotational role for the Education Times. The candidate is expected to write articles, publish news online, support in making pages and magazines released by the department. Co-ordinate with reporters and photographers to generate all important stories, package and slot to ensure no important stories are missed out, make pages and give catchy captions, straps ensuring a high quality and engaging edition. Roles and Responsibilities:
Require 4-5 years experience in Print / Digital media mandatory. Someone is working in Print/ Digital Media but is ready to work in Education industry. Edit articles, select photos and give story ideas, give headlines and caption and edit copies. Liaise with reporters for graphic matter and stories and with photographers for photos in order to ensure that no important stories are missed and readers get correct picture of an event.
Make pages, give correct and catchy headlines, give smart taglines adages and provide informative captions and make attractive and informative graphics and edit and rewrite stories in order to produce error-free, informative and attractive pages. Make pages, draw dummies for the assigned edition, decide on stories and pictures to be taken in order to produce a visually pleasing page. Scan the agencies and make a list of relevant stories which are not being covered by reporters in order to maintain the paper’s edge over competitors and ensure that no story is missed. Soft Skills:
Language skillsWell-read and proficient in written and spoken English. Good news sense. Tech savvy in order to keep up with the new software’s being introduced.
