Join us as we drive forward renewable energy and environmental excellence across Uzbekistan.🔎 About the RoleWe are seeking an Biodiversity Engineer (Ecologist) to support the delivery of ecological and biodiversity requirements across our renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan.You will work closely with the E&S Manager, technical teams, and external consultants to ensure all environmental and ecological activities align with lender requirements and international standards.This role is ideal for a passionate environmental professional who thrives in the field, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and is committed to safeguarding biodiversity.✅ Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the E&S Manager and senior team in delivering lender requirements aligned with EBRD PR5 and IFC PS5.Coordinate with project teams and consultants to determine ecological requirements.Ensure compliance with lender and regulatory requirements related to environment, health & safety, and technical quality.Lead or support desk-based and field surveys (protected species, botanical and habitat surveys, nesting surveys) across terrestrial, freshwater, estuarine, and coastal environments — in line with BAP and ESMPs.Conduct site assessments to identify vegetation communities, key flora and fauna, and broader ecological characteristics.Work independently to plan and deliver safe, high-quality ecological surveys and reporting.Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and recommendations.🎓 Minimum RequirementsDegree in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, environmental studies, or related discipline.3+ years’ experience (minimum 2-3 years for Senior Ecologist) in consulting, regulatory, or field-based ecological work.Strong knowledge of:Ecosystem sciences & terrestrial ecologyOrnithologyEnvironmental planningFamiliarity with environmental assessment methods and applicable Uzbek environmental legislation.Experience with biodiversity action plans and monitoring aligned with IFC, EBRD & ADB standards.Ability to interpret biodiversity monitoring outcomes and provide actionable insights.Experience collaborating with institutional stakeholders (governmental, international & NGO).Ability to develop and deliver biodiversity training for site-based teams.Strong communication skills in Uzbek & English; additional languages are a plus.🌍 Why Join ACWA Power?At ACWA Power, you will contribute to the ecological stewardship of transformative renewable projects across the region.
