The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, preparing monthly and year-end entries, and supporting various accounting and audit functions. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.THE CANDIDATEYour energy and enthusiasm are boundless, and you enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are detail oriented, creative and an excellent communicator. You thrive in a professional environment and are driven and welcome the opportunity to aspire to measurable targets.  QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience of bookkeeping or accounting experience.Experience working in a not-for-profit environment with government-funded programs is strongly preferred.Proven experience in fund accounting and managing multi-source funding.Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/NFP standards).Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Account Edge, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.Experience with payroll entries and reconciliations preferred.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESRecord and book daily revenue entries.Process and record staff expense reimbursements.Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.Prepare and reconcile WSIB, Union Dues, and Employer Health Tax (EHT) accounts; record related journal entries.Record payroll accruals and related entries at month-end.Prepare amortization and management fee journal entries monthly.Submit WSIB and Union Dues payments online.Monthly investment reconciliation.Prepare and record payroll cost allocations and associated adjusting entries.Allocate group benefit costs monthly.Support the month end and year-end closing process, including reconciliations and accrual entries.Provide audit support as required.Serve as backup for accounting clerks during absences or peak periods.Other duties as requiredSalary: $60,000-$65,000Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 9am – 5pm; Friday: 9am – 4pm Hybrid work scheduleIf interested, please send cover letter and resume to mdecesare@yes.on.ca indicating the job title in the subject line.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under the YES Accessibility policy.
