Building Sustainability Engineer

BIO-SY-MO is seeking a passionate and skilled Sustainability Engineer to join our team of sustainability consultants based in Athens, Greece. This role plays a key part in supporting building projects on their journey toward certification under international green building standards — including LEED, WELL, TRUE, BREEAM, Parksmart, and more.We are looking for someone who approaches sustainability not only as a technical field but as a shared responsibility — someone eager to expand the practice beyond certification and contribute to a regenerative built environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with design and engineering teams throughout all project phases to ensure sustainability goals are achieved.Collect, prepare, and manage documentation for green building certification requirements.Engage with building material manufacturers and suppliers to source sustainable and innovative solutions.Perform Building Energy Modeling and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to enhance environmental performance.Proactively explore and share insights on emerging technologies, certifications, and tools that can enrich our services.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is a plus.Professional accreditation in a green building standard (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, or similar) is an asset.Minimum 2 years of experience in sustainability-related roles within the design or construction industry.Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written).Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.Familiarity with systems thinking or regenerative approaches is considered advantageous.Desirable SkillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with project teams and clients.Strong organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and timelines.Collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn and grow in a multidisciplinary environment.A proactive mindset with curiosity for innovation and continuous improvement.What We OfferCompetitive salary, aligned with experience and qualifications.Opportunities for career growth and meaningful professional development.Ongoing education and training in the latest sustainability and regenerative design practices.A dynamic, creative, and supportive work environment that values authenticity, purpose, and personal evolution.If you’re ready to make a tangible impact in the world of sustainable and regenerative building — we’d love to hear from you.
