We're excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Bush Regeneration Trainee to join our team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 2 years, and make a lasting impact on our City.You Willembark on a comprehensive learning journey, undertaking and successfully completing your Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management through a leading Registered Training Organisationplay an active role in the regeneration and revegetation of bushland and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) sites across Blacktown City. Your work will include site preparation and planting, targeted weed control, and the ongoing maintenance of bushland reserves, WSUD sites, and constructed wetlandsgain practical experience in cleaning Gross Pollutant Traps (GPTs), planting macrophytes (aquatic plants), collecting seeds from endemic plant species, and native plant propagationlearn about the safe and effective use of herbicide applicationshave the opportunity to conduct vegetation site assessments and provide valuable technical support to Council’s bushcare and nursery programs.If you're enthusiastic about conservation, eager to develop hands-on skills in ecological restoration, and committed to protecting and enhancing our natural environment, we encourage you to apply for this fantastic opportunity!EssentialQualifications and experienceNo experience requiredMust have passed mathematics and English at a minimum Year 10 school certificate level, to complete the relevant qualificationAbility to obtain class C drivers licence.DesirableAbility to work within a team environment and under supervisionAbility to demonstrate a passion for the environment, bushland, wetlands, flora and faunaDemonstrated commitment to customer service.Remuneration And BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.Trainee rates apply 38-hour working weekRostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnightEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our commitment to safetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
