This Job is based in AustraliaEmployment Type: Fixed Term – Parental Leave until end of June 2026 Remuneration: $127351-$143489 + 17% superannuation (Level 8) Location: Kensington UNSW Campus (hybrid) Why the Role Matters At UNSW, the student experience is at the heart of everything we do. As a Business Analyst within the Registrar & Student Services (RaSS) team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping digital capabilities and improving student systems across the university. Whilst it important that you have experience working with technical stakeholders, your work will mainly focus on understanding business needs, analysing processes, developing journey maps and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the student experience, rather than on technical development or coding. The technical implementation of solutions is mainly supported by another member of the team, allowing you to concentrate on translating business objectives into actionable requirements. Your insights will help bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions, driving initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and create a seamless student journey. You’ll also support the Project Manager in developing governance, operating, prioritisation and resourcing frameworks.This is a parental leave cover, until end of June 2026.Responsibility SummaryAs a key member of a small project team, you will:Analyse and document business processes, identifying areas where technology can improve efficiency or student experience Collaborate with stakeholders across UNSW to understand business needs, uncover pain points, and define desired outcomes Work closely with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure digital solutions align with strategic goals Develop dashboards, visualisations, and reports from complex data sources to inform decision-making Contribute to the creation of student journey maps and identify opportunities to improve the student experience Manage project timelines, communicate status updates, and escalate issues to ensure successful delivery Recommend best practices, tools, and methodologies for business analysis activities Support the Project Manager in developing a governance and prioritisation framework. Stay informed on industry trends and make recommendations to enhance digital initiatives and student experience Demonstrate UNSW’s values in action and adhere to all health, safety, and conduct policies Who You AreYou are a proactive, strategic thinker with a passion for improving processes and student outcomes. You bring:Proven experience as a business analyst, or in roles such as PMO Analyst, Project Coordinator or similar positions within a project-focused environment Previous experience in higher education, with an understanding of the student-life cycle Demonstrated experience working in a PMO or supporting project governance functions Strong problem-solving, analytical, and initiative-taking skills Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, influencing, and negotiation skills Outstanding communication, organisational, and time management abilities, with experience in Agile and project management methodologies Familiarity with student systems and higher education technology is highly desirable A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering value through innovative digital solutions Candidates will need to have ongoing working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship.Benefits and Culture: People are at the core of everything we do.
