By becoming part of Epic, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful projects across Australia, with potential opportunities extending to the Asia-Pacific region, the US, and Canada.Epic EssentialsOur Brisbane office is seeking an enthusiastic graduate scientist with 0-1 years’ experience to join our Contaminated Land Team. You will join a Brisbane based team of 17 scientists and engineers and will work closely with our national team of over 45 land and water professionals.We have a strong pipeline of projects across all sectors of the contaminated land industry and are looking to grow our project delivery team. Under the direction of our team leader, project managers and senior and principal staff you will be supported to ‘carve your own journey’ while supporting the delivery of complex contaminated land projects.Core tasks will include:Field investigation and data gathering on a variety of projects including renewable projects, critical state significant infrastructure projects, property due diligence investigations, transport and defence sites plus remediation projects!Data interpretation and data analysisContributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projectsContinuous professional development including career coaching and future opportunity to mentor junior team membersIn addition, Epic will support and nurture you in developing ‘soft skills’ as you develop our professional skills as a graduate in the workforce. Epic strongly encourages and supports our graduates to attend relevant internal and external training to ensure you maximise your knowledge and potential.Epic’s project and client diversity will ensure the successful candidate is introduced to the many exciting elements of environmental consulting. The opportunity will exist to travel to various project locations throughout Queensland and interstate (particularly NSW, SA, NT and WA).What You Will BringTo be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution (i.e. science or engineering)0-1 years’ experience in an environmental consulting role, ideally within contaminated landAn enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn new skills and soak up knowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and conciselyThe ability to collaborate in a team environment and able to self-motivateThe ability to take ownership of and be accountable for the delivery of tasks and projectsInterest in supporting key aspects of project management and administration, as well as subcontractor and HSE managementInterest and ability to travel to various locations and work outside on diverse and interesting project sites is essentialLet's redefine environmental excellence together!
