Job Title: Team Lead – Business Compliance Advisory Officer (PalmPay Nigeria)Department: Risk and Compliance teamReports To: Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)Job Type: Full-TimeRole SummaryThe Business Compliance Advisory Officer will provide expert regulatory and compliance advisory support to all PalmPay Nigeria business units. The officer will ensure that PalmPay Nigeria’s products, services, agent activities, merchant acquiring processes, and operational models comply with all applicable regulations. The role serves as a bridge between business teams and the Compliance department—ensuring compliance-by-design, preventing regulatory breaches, and supporting PalmPay Nigeria in maintaining its strong compliance posture.Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory & Business AdvisoryProvide timely and precise compliance advisory to PalmPay Nigeria’s internal teams on relevant regulatory frameworks.Review new business proposals, product documents, PRDs, system changes, and feature updates to ensure full compliance before rollout.Interpret new and existing circulars, guidelines, and supervisory notices, providing impact assessments and actionable recommendations.Provide advisory support to business units on how to prepare for internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations, ensuring that requirements and expectations are well understood.Offer guidance during compliance gap assessments by interpreting regulatory obligations and advising on appropriate remediation approaches, while business owners and the monitoring team drive execution and closureEnsure operational teams fully understand and execute regulatory obligationsKey Deliverables & Performance IndicatorsQuality, accuracy, and timeliness of compliance advisory issued to business teams.Reduction in regulatory findings and compliance errors attributed to business operations.Timely review and approval of products/services before launch.Quality of regulatory impact assessments and written advisory notes.Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in law, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields.Minimum of 7 years ’ experience in Financial Services Compliance (preferably PSPs).Professional certification (e.g., CAMS, ICA, etc.) is an added advantage.Strong knowledge of the regulatory operating environment.Experience reviewing products, conducting compliance risk assessments, and advising senior managers.Core CompetenciesDeep understanding of Nigeria’s financial regulatory ecosystem.Strong analytical and advisory capability.Ability to interpret CBN guidelines and translate them into practical business requirements.Strong product risk evaluation capability.Proficiency in drafting compliance policies, guidance notes, and advisory documents.Strong communication and critical thinking skills.Ability to challenge business assumptions and influence decisions professionally.High integrity, independence, and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume digital financial environment.Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and issue escalation.
