Job Description

ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Oversight & Governance Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of FlexiMFB’s enterprise-wide compliance framework.Serve as the official liaison between FlexiMFB and regulatory bodies including CBN, NDPC (Data Protection Commission), NFIU, EFCC, FCCPC, NCC, and other statutory agencies.Ensure regulatory filings, licenses, reports, compliance audits, and governance submissions are completed accurately and on time.Policy & Framework Ownership Develop and maintain compliance manuals, internal policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with regulations including: CBN Microfinance Regulatory FrameworkCBN Consumer Protection FrameworkAML/CFT RegulationsNDPR/NDPA ComplianceLenders Compliance CodeData Governance and KYC policiesOversee periodic policy reviews and ensure bank-wide implementation and enforcement.AML/CFT, KYC & Financial Crime Prevention Lead the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT) function.Oversee customer onboarding, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, PEP tracking, and suspicious activity reporting (SARs/STRs).Implement systems to detect fraud, identity theft, unauthorized access, and regulatory violations.Compliance Monitoring & Reporting Develop and execute a robust annual compliance monitoring plan.Conduct compliance risk assessments across products, business units, and distribution channels.Prepare periodic internal and board-level compliance reports, dashboards, and regulatory insights.Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, Product, Credit, Collections, IT Security, HR, and Operations teams to ensure compliance integration in all workflows.Support new product development ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory approvals and requirements.Training, Culture & Awareness Establish and lead compliance and ethics training programs across the organization.Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and responsible banking.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Zero major regulatory penalty or breach100% timely and accurate submission of regulatory filingsCompliance training completion rate (Target: 100%)AML/CFT incident response resolution timeAudit rating improvements (internal + external)Product and operational compliance success rating QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Banking, Public Policy, or related field.Master’s degree or professional diploma in financial regulation (Preferred). Required SkillsMinimum 10+ years experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, or Risk roles.Minimum 5 years leadership experience in Microfinance, Banking, Lending, Fintech, or Digital Financial Services.Demonstrated experience interfacing with CBN and regulatory agencies. Preferred SkillsExperience in developing compliance frameworks and policies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
