A leading international player in the chemical trading and distribution industry, the company specializes in supplying high-quality chemical raw materials to clients across diverse sectors including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food production, detergents, cosmetics, textiles, and industrial manufacturing. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead our market entry and growth strategy across Ghana and neighboring West African countries. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, entrepreneurial sales professional with a proven track record in chemical trading or industrial B2B sales. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying potential clients, managing key accounts, and representing the company’s portfolio across multiple industries. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of regional development and play a pivotal role in establishing a strong brand presence in West Africa. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identify, engage, and build relationships with potential customers across manufacturing, agricultural, pharmaceutical, food, detergent, cosmetics, and trading sectors in Ghana and neighboring countries. Act as the primary representative of the company in West Africa, driving business growth and customer engagement. Generate and manage RFQs, quotations, and proforma-based sales transactions. Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and import/export regulations. Collaborate closely with the global sales and supply chain teams to develop pricing strategies and ensure smooth delivery of goods. Negotiate and close deals, ensuring long-term partnerships and recurring sales growth. Monitor customer satisfaction and provide ongoing after-sales support. Develop strategic business plans to strengthen the company’s regional market position and profitability. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical trading, distribution, or industrial B2B sales. Strong network of clients or distributors within West Africa’s manufacturing, agricultural, or trading sectors. Demonstrated ability in sales negotiation, deal-closing, and client relationship management. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; French proficiency is a strong advantage. Solid understanding of West African business culture and cross-border trading regulations. Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while collaborating with global teams.
