About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and dynamic Business Development / Market Growth Manager to lead growth initiatives in our Auckland office. This pivotal role will help expand our client base, strengthen existing relationships, and enhance our market position in New Zealand.The successful candidate will work closely with Partners, senior leaders, and the Australian Business Development team to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and execute targeted growth plans. While aligned with the Australian market strategy, this role requires autonomy to develop the NZ market, which is less mature, and hands-on involvement across multiple business areas. This is a fast-paced, relationship-driven role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about business growth.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Market GrowthDevelop and implement strategies to expand the firm’s client base and market reach in NZ.Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key sectors and service lines, with a focus on cyber, privacy, and digital risk (or a willingness to grow expertise in these areas).Collaborate closely with the Australian Business Development team to align strategies while adapting to local market needs.Support Partners and senior leaders with client acquisition, proposals, and presentations.Client Relationship ManagementBuild, manage, and strengthen relationships with clients, prospects, and key stakeholders.Develop initiatives to enhance client engagement, retention, and cross-selling opportunities.Coordinate client feedback processes and implement actions to improve satisfaction.Marketing, Communications & Brand DevelopmentWork with the marketing team to plan and execute campaigns, events, and sponsorships supporting business growth.Contribute to thought leadership, market insights, and promotional materials to enhance brand presence.Assist with event management in NZ until a dedicated role is established.Represent the firm at networking events, conferences, and industry functions.Operations & SupportAssist with operational tasks, including setting meetings, preparing documents, and supporting business processes as needed.Maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities using CRM and reporting tools (HubSpot experience highly desirable).Support initiatives beyond the scope of the JD as required in a growing NZ office.Reporting & StrategyTrack and report on business development performance and progress against growth targets.Monitor market trends and provide insights to senior leaders to refine strategies.Key Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, communications, PR, or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, client relationship management, or market growth, ideally within professional services or a similar environment.Experience or interest in cyber, privacy, and digital risk is highly desirable.Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.Strong networking, communication, and presentation skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders.Commercially astute with analytical and strategic thinking skills.Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.Proactive, results-driven, and willing to assist across business operations and marketing initiatives.Experience with HubSpot, Canva, and event management is highly desirable.About AtmosAtmos is one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading legal and advisory firms dedicated to providing cyber, privacy and digital risk services.
