Job SummaryThis is a Hybrid or Onsite role at our VA or NH locations.The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving company growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and supporting strategic planning. This role collaborates with project management and estimating teams to ensure accurate bids and proposals, while also monitoring industry trends and maintaining a strong market presence.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & StrategyDevelop and implement strategies to achieve company growth targets.Identify and pursue new clients, project opportunities, and markets within the construction industry.Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform strategy.Provide regular reports on business development activities, achievements, and forecasts to senior management.Marketing & BrandingManage marketing vendors to maintain the company’s online presence.Oversee creation of marketing materials to support the sales process.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand visibility.Client & Partner RelationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to prospective clients.Address client inquiries and maintain ongoing communication to ensure satisfaction.Collaboration & SupportWork closely with project management and estimating teams to develop accurate bids and proposals.Support cross-functional initiatives that strengthen alignment between business development, operations, and leadership.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the construction or contracting industry.Strong understanding of the construction market, including bidding processes and industry standards.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Proven ability to build and maintain lasting client and stakeholder relationships.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.Established network of contacts in the construction or contracting industry.Experience managing marketing strategies or campaigns.Familiarity with construction project management tools and software.Working ConditionsPrimarily office-based with regular travel to client sites, industry events, and networking functions. Standard 40-hour work week with additional hours as needed to meet business development goals.Environmental RequirementsWork is typically performed in an office setting, with frequent travel to external sites and events. Site visits may require use of standard personal protective equipment (PPE).
