Job Description

This is not a remote role. The selected candidate will be required to travel frequently within Africa.We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager based in Africa to support our regional growth plans. The role involves identifying, assessing, and developing new exploration and mining opportunities, building partnerships, and supporting the execution of projects across the continent.The position is ideal for professionals with experience in mining, mineral exploration, or investment development who want to grow into a senior leadership role.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & PartnershipsIdentify new business opportunities in mining and mineral exploration across Africa.Conduct initial research, due diligence, and feasibility assessments.Support negotiations and documentation for partnerships, MoUs, and JV agreements.Work closely with local consultants, authorities, and project stakeholders.Project CoordinationSupport setup and coordination of new projects, including vendor and contractor engagement.Coordinate between local project teams and international management.Track project progress, prepare periodic reports, and highlight potential risks or opportunities.Stakeholder ManagementRepresent the company in meetings with government bodies, industry associations, and partners.Build strong relationships within the African mining community.Strategic & Financial SupportAssist with financial modelling, project evaluations, and presentation materials.Support the senior leadership team on M&A assessments, market studies, and business plans.QualificationsExperience: 8–12 years of professional experience, with at least 3–5 years in mining, mineral exploration, or project/business development.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field. (MBA/Finance exposure is an advantage.)Skills:Strong analytical and commercial understanding of the mining sector.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Good understanding of government processes, licensing, and compliance in African countries.Proficient in MS Office and basic financial modelling.Language: Fluency in English is mandatoryLocation: Must be based in Africa (local candidates preferred).
