Job Title: BI Developer / Analytics Engineer (Microsoft Stack)Location: Dubai Type: Contract - ASAP until May 2026About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced BI Developer / Analytics Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft data stack to support data and analytics initiatives in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment. The successful candidate will transform raw data into meaningful insights, build scalable data models, and deliver impactful dashboards and automations to support strategic and operational decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and data transformations for reporting across retail and ecommerce functions.Design and manage SSAS Tabular Models including relationships, measures, roles, and partitions.Build and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports, utilizing DAX and Power Query (M) for advanced analytics (sales, inventory, customer behavior, etc.).Create and maintain Power Automate workflows to automate data refreshes, alerts, and operational processes.Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.Ensure high standards of data quality, accuracy, and performance, especially for large and fast-changing retail datasets.Monitor and enhance data pipeline performance to ensure reliable and scalable delivery.Contribute to continuous improvement of BI platforms, processes, and best practices.Prepare and maintain documentation for data models, workflows, and solutions.Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 5 years in Business Intelligence or Analytics roles.Strong proficiency in SQL (data manipulation, complex queries, performance tuning).Hands-on experience building and maintaining SSAS Tabular Models.Proven expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, dashboard design).Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.Previous experience in retail, ecommerce, or consumer-focused industries preferred.Preferred / Advantageous SkillsExperience with SSIS for ETL/data integration.Python for data transformation or automation.Familiarity with modern workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow).Understanding of key retail/ecommerce KPIs and analytics use cases.Soft SkillsStrong communication skills; able to translate technical work into business language.High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to build scalable and maintainable solutions.Ideal CandidateSomeone who enjoys working with data to solve business problems, can handle fast-moving retail data environments, and is passionate about delivering insights that directly support business growth and customer experience.
