About this role. . .The Canadian Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing full-cycle payroll operations across multiple schedules and jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely processing using cloud-based platforms like WagePoint. This role involves handling new hires, terminations (ROEs), taxable benefits, commissions, and statutory pay, while maintaining compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., EHT, WSIB, RRSP, CRA filings, and year-end forms like T4, T4A, T5).The specialist serves as a key point of contact for clients, resolving payroll-related issues efficiently and upholding high service standards. They proactively identify risks, contribute to process improvements, and support internal documentation and training initiatives. Key Responsibilities:Payroll Processing: Manage full-cycle payroll using cloud-based software (e.g., WagePoint), including new hires, terminations (ROEs), taxable benefits, commissions, and statutory pay across various schedules (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly).Compliance & Reporting: Handle government remittances, filings (EHT, WSIB, RRSP), CRA queries, and year-end reporting (T4, T4A, T5, etc.).Client Support: Communicate with clients to resolve payroll issues promptly, ensuring accuracy and service qualityRisk Management: Proactively identify and address risks, ensuring timely and compliant payroll delivery.Process Improvement: Collaborate with the team to improve workflows, create documentation and training materials, and support internal knowledge sharing.
