Position: Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Location: China, Remote BasedReporting Line: CEOApsida Life Science is currently partnering with an early stage biotechnology that are looking to appoint a CSO. Established in 2024, this clinical-stage biotechnology company is dedicated to the research and development of next-generation targeted radiopharmaceuticals. The organization focuses on addressing unmet clinical needs in oncology by developing innovative radiotherapeutic solutions that expand treatment options and improve outcomes for cancer patients.R&D Strategy and Project ManagementConduct in-depth research on global nuclear medicine R&D trends to formulate medium- and long-term R&D strategies and annual development plans.Oversee project initiation, progress, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of R&D projects.Drive portfolio prioritization and ensure alignment with company strategy and regulatory expectations.Technology R&D and InnovationLead the research and development of core nuclear medicine technologies, addressing key technical bottlenecks and advancing scientific innovation.Monitor emerging technologies and promote the transformation of R&D outcomes into clinical and commercial success.Provide technical leadership in solving major scientific and engineering challenges throughout the R&D lifecycle.Team and Talent DevelopmentDevelop recruitment, training, and succession plans for the R&D organization.Implement performance evaluation and incentive systems to foster professional growth and high team engagement.Build and lead a multidisciplinary, world-class R&D team capable of delivering cutting-edge innovation.Compliance and External CollaborationEnsure compliance with global regulatory authorities, including NMPA, FDA, and EMA, and take a leading role in IND/NDA submissions.Foster partnerships with universities, research institutions, and medical organizations to enhance innovation and industry collaboration.Represent the company at industry conferences and scientific forums to promote R&D achievements and strengthen external networks.Job RequirementsEducational BackgroundPh.D. or above in Nuclear Medicine, Radiochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.Work ExperienceMinimum 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical or nuclear medicine R&D, with at least 5 years in team or project leadership.International experience (study or work) and a track record in multinational corporations (MNCs) strongly preferred.Proven R&D experience in nuclear medicine (ADC/PDC-related experience advantageous).Demonstrated leadership or core contribution in the full development cycle of at least one nuclear medicine product (from discovery to IND filing or commercial launch).Experience with IND approval or product registration is highly desirable.Professional SkillsDeep understanding of nuclear medicine R&D principles, technologies, and processes.Strong grasp of global regulatory frameworks, market trends, and technological advancements in nuclear medicine.Proven capability in project management, problem-solving, and regulatory documentation.Personal AttributesStrategic, innovative, and business-oriented mindset with strong leadership presence.Excellent communication, collaboration, and English language skills.High resilience, integrity, and entrepreneurial drive.Committed to excellence, continuous learning, and fostering an innovative R&D culture.Apsida Life Science is a specialist recruitment business based in London (UK), Redhill (UK) & Boston (USA) that is dedicated to delivering the best talent to the Life Science industry.
