The CTO will own the complete technology roadmap, architecture, execution, and delivery of the platform with an end-to-end retail operating backbone covering procurement, inventory, POS, supply chain automation, finance, compliance, analytics, and multi-branch operations. This is a builder role, not an advisory role. The candidate must be able to architect and build systems, lead engineering, ship fast, and deliver production-grade ERPNext customizations.Key Responsibilities1. Architecture & Systems Design* Design the full technical architecture of the platform.* Lead ERPNext customization, module-building, workflows, and integrations.* Set coding standards, security standards, and system lifecycle policies.* Oversee infrastructure, deployment, and scalability.2. ERPNext Development & Customization* Build new modules for procurement, POS, finance, stock, supplier workflows, compliance, and reporting.* Design doctype models, server scripts, client scripts, workflows, and custom APIs.* Implement integrations with POS hardware, payment gateways, ZATCA, suppliers, 3PL, etc.3. POS System Build-out* Architect and build a full retail POS with: * Offline mode * Multi-register * Promotions engine * Barcode scanners * Split payments * Receipts * Cash control * Full ERP sync* Ensure POS is fast, stable, and compliant with Saudi regulatory needs.4. Retail ERP Experience The CTO must have prior experience with retail ERP including:* Replenishment logic* Inventory accuracy* Multi-branch* Costing and valuation* Discounts, promotions, price lists* Payments and credit* Vendor management* GRN and stock movements* Sales reporting and analytics5. Team Leadership* Build a lean engineering team.* Mentor developers.* Manage sprints, code reviews, QA cycles, and releases.* Own end-to-end quality and delivery.6. Security, Compliance & Data* Implement secure coding practices.* Ensure compliance with ZATCA requirements.* Oversee backups, disaster recovery, and data governance.Required Experience (Mandatory)These are non-negotiable:1. Strong ERPNext Mastery Must have deep experience with:* Frappe framework.* Custom apps.* Custom modules.* Client/server scripts.* REST APIs.* Integrations.* Deployment.* Multi-tenant configurations.* Performance optimization.
