About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced Plant Operations Director to lead our China manufacturing operations. This role requires strong expertise in metal machining (precision machining) and a hands-on management style. The ideal candidate will actively engage on the shop floor and work closely with production teams, rather than focusing solely on administrative tasks.You will manage a semi-automated factory environment and drive operational excellence through leadership, technical know-how, and continuous improvement. Candidates with experience only in fully automated smart factories will not be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all plant operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and safety.Ensure efficient and effective machining processes, meeting high standards of precision and quality.Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor to identify and resolve operational issues promptly.Manage and optimize performance in a semi-automated manufacturing environment.Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and mentor plant leadership teams to foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.Collaborate with global stakeholders to align plant operations with corporate objectives.RequirementsProven experience in metal machining (precision machining) within a manufacturing environment.Strong hands-on leadership approach - actively involved in production operations.Experience managing semi-automated factories (not fully automated smart factories).Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.Strong learning agility and ability to adapt to new technologies and processes quickly.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.Fluent in English is MUST.
