The City of Pasadena – Economic Development Division under the City Manager’s Office is seeking a creative, innovative, and talented graduate or upper class standing student to serve in the role of Administrative Intern. Under direct supervision, the Administrative Intern will assist with a wide variety of administrative, operational, technical assignments, and receive on-the-job exposure to municipal government. The ideal candidate must be a creative, results-oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively in a small team environment.

Performs research and analysis on administrative, fiscal and operational matters as directed; gathers, compiles and organizes data; prepares reports to summarize findings; conducts research and analyzes statistical and other data to assist with business recruitment and retention. Communication / Customer Service: Corresponds with both internal and external customers on a variety of matters; provides technical and administrative assistance to address inquiries; effectively communicates ideas in a clear and effective manner, both orally and in writing. Social Media / Webpage Design:
Creates and posts economic development successes on the Division's website and social media outlets to market the work and accomplishments of the Division. VACANCY INFORMATIONThere is currently one full-time position in the Economic Development Division of the City Manager's Department. The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment may be used to fill this vacancy or similar vacancies in the future. The position is classified as "at will" and not eligible for regular employment status. Interns serve at the request of the hiring authority. The Intern assignment is limited to two years. Special RequirementsPossession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license and satisfactory driving record may be required.
Effective January 1, 2013, new members to CalPERS or an agency with CALPERS' reciprocity or who have more than a six month break in service between employment in a CalPER (or reciprocal) agency will be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) and will receive the 2% @ 62 benefit formula. Employees who are current members of CalPERS or an agency with CalPERS' reciprocity, or who have less than a six month break in service between employment in a CalPERS (or reciprocal) agency and employment with the City will be enrolled in the 2. 5% @ 55 benefit formula.
