The engineer will be responsible for providing civil expertise throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on evaluating design drawings and managing submittals and requests for information (RFIs) across multiple active sites. These projects are located near Georgetown, Glenwood Springs, and Durango, CO. In this role, the engineer will contribute to multiple concurrent efforts, ensuring consistency and quality in technical deliverables. They will work closely with the project manager, internal teams and external consultants to support design coordination, construction planning, and field execution. The position requires 3+ years of experience in renewable generation projects, preferably in hydro or similar infrastructure, and the ability to travel to project sites as needed to provide hands-on support during key phases of construction.What does a typical day look like? A typical day for this civil engineering position will vary depending on the phase and scope of the project. Early in the project lifecycle, the role will involve assisting the project manager with upfront scoping, estimating, and planning activities. This includes coordinating with design engineering consultants, internal teams such as operations and environmental, and helping define project requirements and deliverables. As projects progress, daily tasks will include managing submittals and RFIs, collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure technical documentation aligns with project specifications. This involves reviewing drawings, studies, and analyses, and communicating any variances from the company’s specifications for internal approval. During construction phases, the role becomes more field-focused, providing direct support to team members by addressing civil engineering-related questions, clarifying design details, and troubleshooting on-site issues. The engineer will also help coordinate contractors, lead meetings, and ensure construction activities comply with design intent and standards.This resource should be proficient in resolving RFIs and non-conformance requests, interpreting design drawings, and managing compliance throughout the construction process.
