Civil/Structural Engineer Internship or Co-Op (Summer 2026)

Job Description

The Civil / Structural Engineer Intern or Co-op will work alongside other Civil / Structural Engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and other deliverables for our clients’ design projects. The position will also interface with team members in our other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages to our clients.ResponsibilitiesPerform existing drawing researchDesign 2-D graphics using AutoCAD, and 3-D graphics using RevitUpdate Nexus graphics standardsDevelop Nexus templates for the Structural DepartmentReview codes and create project design specificationsAssist experienced Structural Engineers with their activities as requestedQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or universityAbility to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and othersEffective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a mustProficient in Microsoft Office Excel and WordSeeks feedback to improve performanceProficient with AutoCAD, Revit or other drafting software desiredExposure to STAADPRO or similar packaged finite element programs a plusPotential ExperiencesGain an understanding of the business and engineering work flow in a consulting firmExpand capabilities with drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or othersIntroduced to STAADPRO for finite element analysisExposure to and application of industry codes and standards related to the structural discipline functionsCompetitive BenefitsLearn more about our competitive benefits in detail.Why Nexus?Nexus Engineering Group, a distinguished independent full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, provides comprehensive support to clients from concept through startup.
