SummaryUnder direct supervision, writes, edits and optimizes CNC programs to create mechanical parts on 3, and 5 axis CNC machines. Creates highly diversified and complex programs for milling, drilling, boring, tapping, of Aerospace parts while adhering to all safety features of the machines and plant. The CNC Programmer must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality (Ref. Quality Procedures). The CNC Programmer shall contribute to product conformity as apart to their daily job function and shall contribute to product safety (Ref. job travelers and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program Handbook). The CNC Programmer shall also be aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to AMRO policies and procedures (Ref. Employee Handbook).Responsibility & AuthorityMaintain and Realize AS 9100 procedures and continuous improvement effortsEnsure department processes, safety rules, and practices are followedCreate and modify programs to become more efficientDevelop holding fixtures and select cutting tools as requiredIntegrate your work with Program Management, Production, Quality departments for optimal effectivenessMaintain programs to current print/model revisionsAble to work to deadlines/schedulesAccepts, performs, and is accountable for efficiency and quality results of assigned dutiesNotify supervisor of any problems and/or difficulties and provide possible solutionsMust understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failureEnsure programming office is kept neat and orderly at all timesEducation And/Or ExperienceMinimum 10 years’ experience using catia, vericut to write CNC programs in a machining environmentWork experience as a machinist or its equivalent a plusExperience with Catia/Mastercam software or equivalent, and G&M codesAble to read and understand process work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawingsExperience operating all types of basic machine shop equipment such as drills, mills, lathes, grinders, sawsExperience operating 3, 5 axis CNC machinesKnowledge And Skill RequirementsKnowledge and understanding of standard and metric terminologyAbility to problem solveAbility to determine and calculate proper speeds and feedsMust be familiar with controls and instrumentation, tooling, and machine set upWorking knowledge of basic safety policies and proceduresLean manufacturing knowledge a plusMust be self-confident and pay close attention to detailTime management and organizationMust have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levelsMust have a professional attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvementMust have direct communication with internal customers.Must be trained of applicable changes & customer requirements.Must know the QMS basic system of reporting, record keeping and follow instructions.Employment Type: Full TimeYears Experience: 5 - 10 yearsBonus/Commission: No
