As the Communications Specialist, you will report to the Communications Manager and will play a central role in advancing the company’s internal communications and will be responsible for building and managing the employee communication platform. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create impactful content and work with a dynamic team that values innovation, collaboration, and meaningful storytelling.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs the Communications Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:Build, manage, and maintain the employee communication platform using SharePointLead ongoing content development for the platform, ensuring content is engaging and aligned with organizational objectivesDevelop and distribute internal communications including announcements, newsletters, leadership messages, and campaign updatesWrite, edit, and design content for multiple channels including the employee platform, email, and presentationsAct as a steward of the company’s internal brand voice and tone, ensuring brand consistency across all communicationsPlan, execute, and support change management communication campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and action across employee and stakeholder groupsMonitor and analyze platform engagement and campaign performance; make data-informed recommendations to improve communication effectiveness and reachMaintain communications calendars and ensure timely delivery of content and materialsSupport events, presentations, and leadership communications with planning and materials developmentCollaborate with Shared Services, senior leadership, and business units on organizational change initiatives and ensure timely, targeted communications across digital platformsRequired Skills & QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as Communications, Journalism, or EnglishAt least 5 years of progressive communications work experienceStrong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience working with SharePoint and Microsoft Viva SuiteWorking knowledge of graphic design applications, including Adobe CC and CanvaProfessional communication skills, including the ability to work with internal stakeholders at all levelsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility work effectively independently and in a dynamic work environment Benefits & PerksLeavitt Industrial Group is proud to offer competitive compensation and flexible benefits coverage for all eligible employees, including an employer matching RRSP plan:Company paid medical health care plan for you and your dependents Dental plan, vision plan, and prescription drug coverage Annual health care spending account Life insurance, disability insurance, and travel insurance – 100% employer paid Sick leave plan – 100% employer paidEmployee assistance programs RRSP matching Company cell phone and laptopOngoing professional development opportunitiesThe base pay range for this role is: $70,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience.This is a hybrid role based in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.
