Trusted by the world's biggest brands, we're passionate about user experience and we're looking for a dynamic Community and Events Manager to help us grow and engage with our vibrant community.You'll develop and execute our community engagement strategy across digital and in-person channels. You’ll also own our social media presence and create memorable events and webinars that bring customers together.We're looking for someone who is a natural connector - who's equally comfortable managing a LinkedIn content calendar, coordinating event logistics, and building genuine relationships with customers. You're both a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, someone who juggles multiple projects while maintaining high standards for quality and engagement.What you'll doSocial Media Management:Own and manage Optimal's social media presence across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, and MediumDevelop platform-specific content strategies that drive engagement and build communityCreate and manage a content calendar that balances promotional, educational, and community-focused contentWrite compelling copy for social posts and campaigns across multiple formats (short-form, long-form, video, static)Monitor social conversations, engage with our audience, and identify opportunities for brand participationTrack social media metrics and optimize strategy based on performance dataCommunity Building and Engagement Plan, execute and manage all of our community initiatives across all channels, digital and in-personDevelop engagement strategies that encourage participation, knowledge sharing, and peer-to-peer connection across our communityCreate and facilitate ongoing conversations, discussions, and initiatives that add value to community membersIdentify and nurture community champions and advocatesDevelop and execute a user-generated content strategy that showcases customer success and expertiseGather customer feedback and insights to inform product and marketing strategiesEvents and Webinars Plan, coordinate, and execute in-person community events including customer meetups, networking sessions, leadership circles and user conferencesManage end-to-end webinar production from concept development and speaker coordination through to promotion and deliverySource and liaise with speakers, panelists, and guest contributorsManage event sponsorship opportunities including vendor relationships and deliverablesCoordinate event logistics, budgets, and timelinesDrive event registration and attendance through targeted campaignsContent Creation Write compelling copy for community communications, event promotions, webinar descriptions, and social contentBrief and collaborate with in-house design team to develop digital and creative assetsManage the production of video content, graphics, and other multimedia assetsEnsure all content aligns with brand guidelines and speaks effectively to our target audienceWhat we're looking for:5+ years in a community management, social media, or events roleProven track record managing social media channels with demonstrated success growing engagement and communityDemonstrated experience planning and executing in-person events from conception to completionExperience managing event sponsorships including vendor coordination and deliverable fulfillmentEnd-to-end webinar management experience including content planning, speaker coordination, technical production, and promotionProficiency with marketing automation platforms, particularly HubSpotExcellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platformsStrong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneouslySelf-sufficient and proactive work style with ability to work independentlyComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving prioritiesWhat’s in it for you:Competitive salary (we offer a salary that reflects your experience and the value you’ll bring to our team)Annual wellbeing allowance and supportAnnual learning and development supportEmployee Share Option Plan (ESOP) to help you benefit from the long-term success of the companyHome office set-up supportEnhanced parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers4 weeks annual leave plus an additional day off on your birthday!Opportunities for professional growth and developmentFlexible work options (our HQ is based in Wellington, NZ, but this role can be based anywhere in New Zealand or Australia)If this sounds like a role that excites you, apply today!
