Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Health & Safety Coordinator to lead and manage all aspects of our Health & Safety (H&S) program.This role is based in Ancaster, ON. Only candidates within a reasonable commuting distance will be consideredResponsibilities·      Enforce company H&S policies and ensure compliance across all project sites.·      Exercise authority and make decisions regarding health and safety matters.·      Design and conduct site-specific safety training for workers.·      Create, review, and maintain safe work procedures and practices.·      Develop audit checklists and perform regular site inspections.·      Lead investigations to identify root causes and develop corrective/preventive action plans.·      Develop, revise, and implement health and safety policies.·      Deliver a Hazard Recognition Program, including risk assessments and control implementations.·      Collect, analyze, and report on H&S metrics (e.g., RIR, incident rates, training completion).·      Stay current with provincial and federal health and safety regulations.QualificationsDiploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.Canadian Registered Safety Professional, CHSC, NCSO, or equivalent is an asset.3-5 years of experience in a Health and Safety role.Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry.Strong understanding of Ontario OHSA and associated regulations.Must have experience working with Joint Health and Safety CommitteesMust have JHSC certificationMust have a valid G driver's licenseComfortable working in various outdoor conditions and travelling to multiple site locations.
