Transrail Lighting Limited is looking for Consultant / Senior Consultant - Bridge & InfrastructureJob Description / ResponsibilityContext & ObjectiveTransrail is expanding its footprint in Bangladesh, focusing on complex infrastructure including river-crossing foundations and rail-bridge interfaces. We require a seasoned veteran from the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) to serve as a bridge between our technical teams and government stakeholders. This role is not just about engineering; it is about navigating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the BBA to ensure project approvals, design vetting, and site execution move without delay. Core ResponsibilitiesGovernment Liaison & Approvals: Act as the primary point of contact for BBA. Facilitate the timely approval of General Arrangement Drawings (GAD), hydraulic studies, and structural designs.Strategic Advisory: Provide expert counsel on BBA’s technical specifications, safety protocols, and "Right of Way" (ROW) challenges specifically for projects crossing major rivers (e.g., Jamuna, Padma, or Meghna).Contractual Compliance: Interpret BBA-specific contract clauses and guide the team on compliance to avoid penalties or project suspension.Site & Technical Supervision: Conduct high-level inspections of bridge foundations (piling, pile caps, and piers) to ensure they meet the rigorous standards expected by national authorities.Dispute Resolution: Leverage your professional network and experience to resolve technical or administrative bottlenecks between Transrail and government engineering departments.Educational RequirementsBachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Civil EngineeringMasters in Engineering (MEngg) in Civil EngineeringSkills Required: Piling work, Bridge Construction Project, Bridge workExperience Requirements15 to 30 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Consulting FirmsAdditional RequirementsWe are seeking a candidate who has "walked the halls" of the BBA and understands the lifecycle of a bridge project from tender to handover.Experience & BackgroundRetired BBA Official: Must be a retired official from the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (Rank of Executive Engineer or higher preferred).Years of Service: Minimum of 15 to 20+ years of experience in the Bangladesh civil engineering sector, with at least 10 years specifically focused on bridge construction and maintenance.Project History: Proven track record of involvement in major national projects (e.g., Padma Multipurpose Bridge, Bangabandhu Bridge, or Elevated Expressway projects).Technical & Professional SkillsBridge Engineering Mastery: Deep knowledge of deep-foundation techniques, piling in deltaic soil conditions, and superstructure types (RCC, PC Girder, or Steel Truss).Regulatory Expertise: Thorough understanding of the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), AASHTO, and IRC standards as applied by the BBA.Language & Communication: Fluent in Bengali and English; ability to write formal technical reports and official correspondence to government ministries.Integrity: A reputation for professional excellence and ethical conduct during their tenure in public serviceJob LocationAnywhere in Bangladesh, Dhaka
