Are you an ambitious journalist looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, multi-platform business media environment where no two days are the same.Working closely with the editor as part of a small, hands-on team, you’ll contribute to everything from writing compelling business stories to helping plan and deliver high-profile events. As content editor, you’ll also have the chance to develop your skills as a journalist in a future-facing publication where every member of the team is vital.Insider runs a busy calendar of business networking events across the South West, and our editors play a central role in shaping them, from selecting speakers and judging awards to leading on-stage interviews. You’ll initially shadow the editor and editorial director, gradually taking on more responsibility as your confidence and experience grow.We’re looking for a confident communicator who’s comfortable picking up the phone, walking into boardrooms, and building relationships with senior business leaders.You’ll be supported with one-to-one training and mentoring to help you thrive.An NCTJ qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential, above all, we’re looking for enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn.Core ResponsibilitiesWriting in-depth features for South West Business Insider magazineProducing timely business news and features for Insidermedia.comSupporting the editor with the planning and delivery of eventsReaching out to and inviting key business figures to attend Insider eventsCrafting engaging and accurate synopses for Insider features and business eventsCapturing and producing video content at events for use across digital platformsResponsibilities As The Role ProgressesChairing high-level round table discussions with key business figuresPresenting live interview sessions at our flagship breakfast eventsDeputising for the editor and representing Insider at regional business eventsNo two days are the same at Insider.From writing in-depth features and chairing thought-provoking round tables, to attending prestigious awards dinners and collaborating with our sales and events teams, you'll be at the heart of our dynamic, fast-paced newsroom and business community.Please note successful candidates will be expected to work from the company's officesIconic Media Group Ltd is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment as an equal opportunity employer.
