Role DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Contract & Commercial Specialist with strong IT sourcing experience to join our team. This role is responsible for leading commercial negotiations, managing supplier contracts, and partnering closely with IT, finance, legal, and business stakeholders to drive value across technology spend.You will play a critical role in structuring commercial agreements, optimising IT costs, managing vendor performance, and ensuring compliance across the IT procurement lifecycle. This role suits someone with strong commercial acumen, the ability to navigate complex licensing models, and a passion for delivering measurable business value.Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities across software, cloud, hardware, and IT services.Analyse IT spend, pricing models, licensing structures, and total cost of ownership.Develop optimisation strategies for cloud consumption, SaaS/subscription usage, and vendor portfolio rationalisation.Provide commercial insights for budgets, business cases, renewals, and investment decisions.Ensure clarity of commercial commitments, risks, and long-term financial impact.Lead sourcing activities across SaaS, cloud, software, infrastructure, and IT consulting categories.Conduct competitive benchmarking, vendor comparisons, and market research.Support stakeholders with requirements gathering, RFP/RFQ development, supplier evaluations, and solution selection.Recommend opportunities for consolidation, rightsizing, and contract simplification.Required experience and skills:Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Law, or related field.3-5+ years of experience in IT procurement, IT sourcing, or technology contract management.Strong understanding of key IT categories, including Software licensing & SaaS subscriptions, Cloud services, Hardware & infrastructure, Telecommunications & connectivity and IT consulting & managed services.Hands-on experience negotiating IT agreements such as SaaS contracts, DPAs, MSAs, SOWs, support agreements, cloud contracts, and enterprise licensing.Solid commercial and financial acumen, including TCO modelling, spend analysis, and cost optimisation methodologies.Strong communication skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams: IT architecture, cybersecurity, engineering, finance, and legal.
