Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your key accountabilities include:Overseeing and coordinating maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, control systems, and automation infrastructure.Driving continuous improvement initiatives by analysing system performance data and identifying optimization opportunities.Managing and supporting software systems, including SCADA, PLC, and plant informationsystems, ensuring availability and integrity.Driving digitalisation initiatives, including data integration, reporting systems, and process optimisation tools.Coordinating and supervising system upgrades, modifications, and new installations for both instrumentation and software platforms.Aligning software performance with plant operational requirements and production targets.Developing and maintaining maintenance strategies, schedules, and documentation for all C&I and software systems.Collaborating and aligning with production, engineering, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems and software solutions.Overseeing Leading and managing all Control & Instrumentation (C&I) and Software personnel to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability.Monitoring and controlling departmental budgets, resources, and contractor performance to ensure cost-effective operations.Coaching and developing team members, including the Software Coordinator, to build technical capability and succession readiness.Promoting compliance to safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards across C&I and software operations.Conducting daily progress reporting, monitoring site developments, and escalating issues to the Plant manager and or to MMG Management as needed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:Degree or National Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control EngineeringMinimum of 10 years’ experience in control and instrumentation within a mining or heavy process plantAt least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory roleExperience managing PLC, SCADA, and DCS systemsExperience overseeing automation, software systems, or digital projects
