Job DescriptionRemarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world.Wood is currently sourcing a Country Manager to join our business in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.Responsible for all business activities and budgets for Wood’s Hexagon S.A operating company in Equatorial Guinea West Africa, where we currently provide contract management for a number of clients and aspire to extend service range in future.Location: Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.Rotation \ Work Pattern: Rotational in country, actual rotation TBC.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all business activities and budgets for Wood’s Hexagon S.A operating company in Equatorial Guinea West Africa, where we currently provide contract management for a number of clients and aspire to extend service range in future. Positions range from entry level national personnel , technical, supervisory, managerial and support staff based in EG at customer installations both on and offshore.The role is the main client interface, having continuous client contact and overseeing the Project Managers and workforce assigned to each client, ensuring a high quality and timely service is provided. The role is also integral for developing future business through promoting our additional service line offerings and identifying opportunities to expand current service lines.A key objective of the role is to support nationalisation; promoting and providing development programmes for national personnel thus increasing national to expat ratio. This includes responsibility for the Hexagon S.A ITHNGE (National Training Programme).Management and oversight of key position succession planning including own position with career development plans maintained for all direct reports.The Country Manager is accountable for embedding a strong HSE culture across all operations, ensuring compliance with Wood’s HSE policies, local legislation, and client requirements. The role provides visible leadership, drives continuous improvement in safety performance, and ensures that risks are effectively managed and communicated throughout the organisation.Key Accountabilities &responsibilitiesAccountable to the Operations Director for the safe and profitable delivery of Woods Hexagon S.A operating company in Equatorial Guinea.Maintain a high standard of customer relations, service quality and client satisfaction.Ensure achievement of client safety and performance KPI’s.Annual budget planning, development, preparation and implementation.Work closely with business development to grow business, actively participating in presentations to customers and in tenders.Responsible for development, competency and performance management of the Hexagon Management team putting succession plans in place as appropriate. Provide direction and leadership of Hexagon to meet customer expectations, commercial performance and continuous improvement.Fully familiar with Wood security requirements and ensure local compliance with sameLead local Emergency Response Team Work with the Regional Technical support to ensure that PEER reviews / Audits / Investigations are undertaken in a planned manner as required.Promote Wood to customers, manufacturers and suppliers.Coordinate with clients in implementing the HSEQ requirements such as HSE improvement plans, Duty of Care, personnel safety inductions and incident reporting and investigations.Directly oversee Project Managers assigned to each client, ensuring all Project Management aspects of the role are undertaken to the required standard; including recruitment, mobilisation, inductions, travel, logistics, performance, etc.Ensuring Hexagon S.A entity is fully compliant with EG legislation and managing any employment law matters in conjunction with legal and P&O teams. Government relations and interface is a key requirement to ensure good relations are maintained and business is operated compliantly, meeting any governmental and reporting requirements.Responsible for the efficient running of Hexagon S.A. ITNHGE (National Training Program) for the Equatorial Guinea national training center. This is a three year program designed to prepare Equatorial Guinea nationals for entry into the O&G industry related fields. Respect Wood and Hexagon’s DoA.QualificationsWhat makes you remarkable?QualificationsEssential requirements for this role: University degree or relevant college diplomaPMP (Project Management Professional) certification is desirable Knowledge, Skills, And ExperienceSeveral years O&G Industry experience including offshore and onshore operations.Experience of working within Africa is a requirement; West Africa would be a significant benefit.Project Management experience and previous experience in client facing role a requirement.Strong IT SkillsPersonal AttributesFlexible to adapt to the growth of the company and willing to learn and develop their own career.A committed safety leader.High degree of customer and delivery focus with personal energy and drive to establish, set-up and grow a new business.Flexible and creative solution provider.Ability to manage change, analyse and solve problems.Capable of providing direction, guidance and support to the team members.Understanding of construction activity.Familiar with O&M activity at level of customer engagementExperience of development and implementation of management systems and competence management frameworks.Fully familiar with Wood Code of business conduct and compliance with same at all times, recognising when at risk of breach and taking action in accordance with CoBC.Desirable:.
