Role SummaryThe Curriculum Head (CBSE) is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring a strong, progressive academic framework across Grades 1–12. The role ensures vertical alignment, academic and holistic learning outcomes through structured curriculum planning, teacher support, and consistent academic audits.Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Design & Development Lead curriculum planning, design yearly academic calendars, and learning outcomes. Ensure vertical alignment across grades for all subjects (integration from primary to senior school). Develop unit plans, lesson plan templates, assessment frameworks, and scope & sequence documents. Integrate NEP 2020, CBSE mandates, competency-based learning, and 21st-century skills. 2. Academic Audits & Quality Assurance Conduct regular classroom observations and instructional audits. Monitor lesson planning, teaching quality, student engagement, and assessment practices. Review student performance data and suggest corrective academic measures. Ensure CBSE compliance, documentation, and academic benchmark standards. 3. Teacher Training & Professional Development Plan and conduct ongoing internal training programs and workshops. Mentor teachers on pedagogy, content mastery, differentiation, and classroom management. Identify training needs and create development pathways for faculty at all levels. Support new teacher induction programs and continuous professional learning communities (PLCs). 4. Assessment & Evaluation Oversee creation of question banks, periodic assessments, and annual examination papers. Ensure assessments are competency-based and aligned with CBSE formats. Review evaluation standards, marking schemes, rubrics, and student feedback systems. 5. Academic Leadership & Coordination Lead subject coordinators and department heads in curriculum execution. Facilitate cross-department collaboration for interdisciplinary learning. Drive academic innovations such as experiential learning, projects, ICT integration, and skill-based modules. Work closely with the leadership team to drive school-wide academic vision. 6. Stakeholder Communication Engage with parents during academic orientations, PTMs, and curriculum walkthroughs. Collaborate with school leadership on academic policies, reporting formats, and student progress communication. Qualifications & Experience Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant academic field (M.A./M.Sc./M.Ed preferred). Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience, including 3–5 years in an academic leadership/coordination role. Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020, competency-based assessments, and instructional design.
