Our Medical Language Engine leverages NLP & AI to transform complex medical narratives into highly precise actionable insights.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Customer Solutions Data Scientist to contribute to our customer growth in building customer solutions that are deployed for our customers.  This role will focus on utilizing data science and emtelligent’s products for technical engagements, solution design and pilot project execution.  You will work closely with emtelligent’s NLP and product teams, customers and our Customer Solutions team design and implement technical solutions that align with customer needs. The candidate should have strong experience in NLP technology and LLM who excels in designing technology solutions that meet customer business objectives and applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong technology background and experience working in a technology startup or new business unit that utilizes technology. They should be adept at adjusting to changing requirements and new technologies. This position will work at the intersection of customer solutions sales, product teams and customers.The ideal candidate is highly customer-focused, capable of translating technical complexity into business value, and excels at leading technical work in strategic customer engagements.Job OverviewReporting to the Senior Vice-President, Customer Solutions, the Customer Solutions Data Scientist will be responsible for utilizing clinical informatics expertise into the successful scoping, design, and delivery of customer solutions. You will lead the scoping of customer needs and requirements into solutions that customers utilize for their business. This includes translating clinical objectives into high-level extraction requirements for projects leveraging NLP and LLM technologies on narrative medical notes. Your primary focus will be utilizing data science to successfully implement customer pilots and implementation projects.You will work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to design and implement technical solutions that align with customer needs. You will also be responsible for contributing to the Customer Solutions function, defining processes, and helping to build a world-class team that can scale with the company’s growth.The Customer Solutions Data Scientist main responsibilities are noted below. Given the early-stage nature of the Company’s business, there may be hands-on bootstrapping required for some or all of these activities before additional team members are hired.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and support projects leveraging proprietary NLP/LLM-based products to extract structured insights from narrative clinical notesCollaborate with internal teams and clients to configure and deploy product-based solutions for specific therapeutic and research use casesQuery and manipulate clinical data using SQL within relational database environmentsOperate within multiple environments, mac OS, Linux-based environments, utilizing basic command-line tools and scripting as neededIntegrate with and utilize RESTful APIs for data ingestion, product configuration, and output retrievalPerform exploratory data analysis and validate extracted outputs for clinical accuracy and relevanceDevelop or modify Python scripts to support data transformation, workflow automation, and model testingContribute to documentation, reproducibility, and performance monitoring of deployed solutionsQualificationsWhile we list a diverse range of skills and experiences under our requirements, we do not expect candidates to possess every single one of them.
