We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Customs Clearance Lead to lead our customs brokerage function in Thailand. This is a senior leadership role will be responsible for overall P&L for Custom Brokerage for the Thailand sub-cluster to developing and executing the overall strategy for customs operations, ensuring the highest levels of compliance, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned customs professional with deep regulatory expertise and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and implement the customs clearance strategy within the assigned scope, ensuring full alignment with commercial objectives and DP World’s global compliance standards.Lead and manage the customs clearance team, overseeing all day-to-day import and export declaration activities for both air and ocean freight shipments.Act as the ultimate owner of customs compliance, ensuring all activities strictly adhere to Thai customs laws, tariff regulations, and international trade agreements. Proactively manage and mitigate any compliance risks.Serve as the primary liaison with Thai Customs authorities and other government agencies, building and maintaining strong, professional relationships to facilitate smooth clearance processes.Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve clearance times, reduce costs, and increase operational productivity.Lead, mentor, and develop the customs clearance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.Function as the senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all customs-related matters, providing expert guidance and support to the Commercial and Operations teams on client tenders, complex shipments, and regulatory changes.Oversee the management and maintenance of all necessary customs licenses, bonds, and permits required for operation.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Requires a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, Law, or a related field.A minimum of 10-12 years of extensive experience in customs brokerage and freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a senior role managing a customs clearance team.A valid and current Thai Customs Specialist License is a mandatory requirement for this role.Expert-level knowledge of Thai customs regulations, HS tariff classification, import/export documentation requirements, and free trade agreements. Proven experience navigating the Thai e-Customs system is essential.Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams, with strong coaching and development skills.Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex regulations.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with Thai Customs Department officials and other relevant government agencies.Business fluency in both English and Thai is mandatory.Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)DP World is committed to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO).
