Title - Data AnalystLocation - Oxford & Hybrid (2-3 days a week)Salary - £45,000 - £65,000, Flexible dependant on experienceOur client, a leading player in the financial services sector circa ~300 heads, is looking for a talented Data Analyst to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment where your work directly influences strategic decisions and drives business success.About the Role: You’ll be at the heart of the organisation, working with complex datasets to uncover trends, optimise processes and deliver actionable insights. This is a hands-on role where you’ll create dashboards, visualisations and reports that inform decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely alongside a Data Engineer to ensure data pipelines are robust and accurate and you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate directly with C-suite executives on ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects.What You’ll Be Doing:Collecting, cleaning and analysing large datasets using SQL, R, Python and VBADesigning and delivering interactive dashboards and visualisations with Tableau and Power BI that are used across the organisationPerforming business analysis to identify patterns, trends and optimisation opportunitiesCollaborating closely with a Data Engineer to ensure clean reliable data for reporting and analyticsProviding ad-hoc insights and analysis directly to senior stakeholders including the C-suite to support key business decisionsDesigning, maintaining and optimising databases (Oracle, SQL Server) for maximum efficiencyAutomating workflows using Bash (Unix shell) and other scripting toolsTranslating complex data into clear actionable insights for a variety of audiencesDesirable Skills & Experience:Strong SQL, Excel and data manipulation skills with experience in BI tools like Tableau or Power BIProgramming experience in R or Python for statistical analysis and data modellingExperience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and database designExposure to VBA, Bash scripting or other automation toolsKnowledge of financial services data, risk modelling or regulatory reporting is a plusFamiliarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for data analytics is desirableComfortable working across multiple stakeholders and presenting insights at executive levelStrong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into clear recommendationsCollaborative mindset, hands-on approach and attention to detailWhy You’ll Love This Role:Work closely with senior stakeholders including the C-suite on high-impact projectsHands-on experience with dashboards, analytics and end-to-end data solutions alongside a skilled Data EngineerFlexible working arrangements to support work-life balanceA culture that values curiosity, innovation and continuous learningOpportunity to make a tangible impact in a leading financial services organisation
