Data & Analytics Lead

The Organisation:A leading & growing Retail organisation based in Sydney is seeking a dynamic and hands-on data & analytics leader to execute and be accountable for their existing data strategy and delivery of end-to-end data solutions that will be critical in enabling data-driven decision making. This role is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office.Key Priorities of the Role:Strong business partnering with leaders across the organisation to understand their requirements and translate into innovative data solutions.Hands-on delivery of these data solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices whilst overseeing a small data internal and external data team.Leverage your ability to apply vision and big-picture thinking with your expertise in technical delivery of secure, scalable and high-quality data & analytics solutions.Apply & develop your knowledge of emerging technologies and AI tools such as Claude, Snowflake Cortex, NLPs, LLMs & automation.Collaborate with data engineering, architecture & reporting colleagues to design, develop and implement these solutions whilst providing mentorship & guidance towards continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.Build strong working relationships both internally and externally, including vendor management.Your Skillset:Demonstrated experience in leading a small data team whilst remaining hands-on in design & development of data solutions (50-50).Strong data engineering background with progression into leading a team.Hands-on experience in Snowflake DWH, SQL (SSAS), Airflow, DBT, Python, CI/CD, Power BI.AI tools such as Claude, Snowflake Cortex & ML & NLPs.Data lake architecture, strong multi-dimensional data modeling, real-time data streaming & EDD.Enjoy business partnering with key stakeholders and C-Suite - become a trusted advisor to multiple business & operational teams.Passion for continuous improvement & open to new tools & technologies.Collaborative and mentoring leadership style.Retail or FMCG experience desirable.You must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency to be considered for this role and be Sydney based.
