Data Engineer (AWS + Python + GenAI)

Our client, a fast-growing AI-first technology company, is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain the data foundations that power their next-generation AI solutions. This role will focus on developing scalable data pipelines, preparing high-quality datasets, and enabling the integration of Generative AI capabilities across the product ecosystem.The ideal candidate combines strong AWS data engineering experience with solid Python skills and hands-on exposure to GenAI workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes across AWS.Manage data ingestion, transformation, and storage using services such as Athena, Glue, S3, Redshift, and Lambda.Prepare structured and unstructured data for GenAI applications, including embeddings, vector databases, and RAG pipelines.Collaborate with software engineers and architects to support AI-driven product features.Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems.Maintain clear technical documentation for pipelines, schemas, and workflows.Support Agile delivery through clear task updates and collaboration.Required QualificationsStrong experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Athena, ECS, or similar).Solid Python development skills for ETL, automation, and data transformation.Practical exposure to Generative AI workflows (LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, RAG frameworks).Experience working with Git-based repositories and CI/CD workflows.Familiarity with Agile development environments.Bonus SkillsHands-on experience with Jira for sprint planning and workflow visibility.Experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.Knowledge of data modeling, orchestration tools, and best practices for scalable data systems.What You'll BringStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset.Ability to work in fast-moving AI environments.Curiosity and willingness to adopt emerging GenAI technologies.Clear communication skills and collaborative approach.Experience in Banking or Mortgage Industry is a Plus
