Data Engineer ETL

Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain ETL workflows and data pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Azure Data Factory (ADF).Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.Optimize and manage data storage and retrieval in SQL Server environments.Work with various file formats (CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet) and implement robust data ingestion techniques.Collaborate with BI teams to develop and support reporting solutions.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues, ensuring data quality and integrity.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill data and reporting requirements.Document data processes, pipelines, and workflows for team transparency and knowledge sharing.Mentor and guide junior data engineers, contributing to team skill development.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).4+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server.Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as SSIS or ADF.Programming experience in Python for data manipulation and automation.Familiarity with different file formats (CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet).Basic understanding of data modeling and database design principles.Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Preferred SkillsAdvanced experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS.Hands-on experience in Power BI report creation and dashboard development.Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).Knowledge of version control systems like Git.Understanding of data governance and security best practices.Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands.Exposure to other BI or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
