Snowflake / SQLSalary: $145,000 – $165,000 + superWe’re looking for a Data Modeller / Principal Data Modeller to design clear, consistent data models that power analytics, drive trustworthy insights, and underpin transformation across the business.In this role, you’ll lead conceptual, logical, and physical modelling across cloud (Snowflake on AWS) and on-prem sources, define standards and patterns (dimensional, Data Vault, 3NF), and partner with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to deliver governed, high-performing data assets.What you’ll doTranslate business needs into conceptual, logical and physical data models and data contracts.Design and maintain dimensional/star schemas, Data Vault 2.0 structures, and reference/master data domains.Own canonical definitions, entities, and relationships; steward business glossaries and semantic layers/metrics.Guide model implementation in Snowflake (schemas, views, materialisations) and SQL Server/Oracle where needed.Define modelling and testing standards in dbt (docs, tests, exposures) and ensure lineage is captured (e.g., OpenLineage).Collaborate with data engineers on efficient ELT patterns and with BI teams to optimise models for Tableau/Power BI.Establish governance across metadata, naming, versioning, privacy and retention; contribute to cataloguing (e.g., Amundsen).Review designs, run modeling workshops, and produce clear documentation and ERDs.What you’ll bringProven experience delivering enterprise data models for analytics and reporting at scale.Deep SQL expertise and strong Snowflake experience; comfortable working with SQL Server and/or Oracle.Mastery of dimensional modelling (Kimball), solid understanding of Data Vault and normalised (3NF) design.Hands-on with dbt (models, tests, documentation) and version control (Bitbucket/Subversion or Git).Strong grasp of metadata/lineage, governance frameworks, and data quality practices.Familiarity with modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, or equivalent) and diagramming (Lucidchart/Draw.io).Collaborative, consultative communicator who can lead standards and mentor others.Why joinShape the enterprise data model that powers a cloud-first analytics platform.Work with a modern stack (Snowflake, dbt, AWS) in a team that values craft and autonomy.Be part of a collaborative ICT group focused on impact, quality, and continuous improvement.Enjoy a balanced, flexible work culture with meaningful projects that matter.If you’re passionate about clear data design, strong governance, and models that make analytics effortless, we’d love to hear from you.Click apply now or send your CV to dan.wotherspoon@changerecruitment.com.au
